The Atelier Care Protocol

Preserving Full-Grain Leather Across Generations

Full-grain, unlined leather requires minimal intervention, but deliberate care preserves its fiber density and natural suppleness:

1. Dusting & Surface CareRegularly brush the piece with a natural horsehair brush. This removes micro-dust from the stitch lines and seams before oils or dirt settle into the fibers.

2. HydrationApply a high-grade, wax-and-oil-based natural leather balm sparingly once or twice a year using a soft cotton cloth. Allow it to absorb for twenty minutes, then buff lightly. Avoid synthetic silicones and heavy petroleum sprays.

3. Moisture & Rain ExposureIf your leather encounters rain, never apply direct heat, radiators, or hair dryers, which dry out the natural oils and cause cracking. Dab the surface dry with a microfiber cloth and let it rest at room temperature.

4. Proper StorageWhen not in use, store the piece flat in a dry, well-ventilated space away from continuous direct sunlight.
